What to expect:

Visiting a new healthcare practitioner can sometimes feel a bit uncertain. My goal is to make your experience smooth, comfortable, and as beneficial as possible, right from your first visit.

If you feel uncertain about coming to an appointment alone, I encourage you to bring along a trusted friend or relative to accompany you.

Your Initial Consultation (Approximately 60 minutes)

To ensure I can dedicate our time fully to you, and as there is no waiting room, I kindly ask that you arrive as close to your scheduled appointment time as possible. I will greet you at Elysium’s main entrance.

Before your first visit, you will receive intake forms for you to fill out digitally. It is essential that you complete and return these forms prior to your initial consultation, as I cannot proceed with the appointment without them. This information is crucial in understanding your health history and current concerns thoroughly.

Your initial consultation is a dedicated hour focused entirely on you. We will spend time discussing your current situation in detail, your health history, and most importantly, what your goals are for treatment. This in-depth conversation is followed by a thorough physical examination, which includes observation, gentle palpation, assessing your range of motion, and performing specific manual orthopaedic tests.

Based on my findings from the examination and our discussion, I will clearly explain what I’ve found, and together we will discuss the best approach for your care. This is a collaborative process where your preferences, my clinical experience, and the latest scientific evidence are all taken into account to agree on a treatment plan that is right for you.

If, following the examination, I determine that further investigations (such as scans or blood tests) are necessary before I can begin treatment, I will explain this to you and provide a referral. If chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition and you are comfortable proceeding, treatment can often begin during this first session.

Follow-Up Treatment Sessions (Approximately 30 minutes)

Regular treatment sessions are typically around 30 minutes long. Each session will begin with a brief check-in to see how you’ve been feeling since your last visit and if there have been any changes or if you have any new preferences regarding your treatment.

Treatment may involve a combination of the hands-on techniques we discussed in the initial consultation, such as soft tissue massage and joint mobilisation/manipulation, tailored to your specific needs and how you are progressing. Ongoing education, guidance, and advice on managing your condition will also be a part of these sessions.

I monitor your progress closely at every visit. We establish a starting point using a questionnaire (included in your intake form) during your first visit. We’ll then repeat this questionnaire at a mutually agreed-upon time (usually around 6 weeks) for a formal review, allowing us to objectively track your improvement and ensure we’re on the right path.

You are always in the driving seat of your care. Your custom treatment plan is designed with your specific preferences and requirements in mind, and we can adjust it at any point to reflect your progress and changing needs. As you progress, exercise progressions will be built upon and continuously reviewed as part of your treatment plan.

I am dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based, and transparent ethical care. My focus is on the quality and effectiveness of your treatment to achieve sustainable results and long-lasting confidence to self-manage your condition. I will only recommend follow-up care that is truly necessary to support your progress and long-term well-being.
